There are a lot of changes as we go from summer into winter.  Obviously the weather changes.  But did you know the change in weather also affects your car?It would seem that there are more cases of auto problems encountered during winter time.Your car would have a great chance of breaking down if you live in a city with a harsh weather. In this article we will look at why the weather hurts your cars.

In my Vista auto repair service the biggest cold weather problem are dead batteries.  The main reason is because when it is cold your battery is usually powering a lot more things in your car.And that would result to it running harder.  Your headlights are usually running longer with the shorter days. And a heater drains the battery more compared to an air conditioning.  So the best thing to do is to make sure your battery is in good condition going into a harsh winter.

Frozen fuel lines is another problem that cars usually encounter during a cold season.  This isn’t a big auto problem for my Oceanside auto repair service.  But this is a big problem in cold weather cities.  What happens is if you let your car run low on fuel condensation forms. And it would freeze when the weather is cold and would stop the fuel from flowing. The best way to prevent this from happening is to always fill your gas tank full.

Tire pressure is another one of those problems when it is cold.  Cold weather will make tires lose pressure.  This isn’t a good thing because low pressured tires get balder faster.Bald tires is not good especially when the roads are icy or wet.So this is really a serious problem. So always check your tire pressure.

Those are common problems to cars in the cold.Doing the tips mentioned above will lead to prevention of some of those problems.  And when it is cold you definitely don’t want to have those problems.
